9. What is aromatherapy? Part of a larger science called phytotherapy-the use of whole plants or parts of plants for medicinal purposes-aromatherapy deals specifically with the benefits that are gained from inhaling the scents produced by these substances. Depending on the ingredients used, aromatherapy can help relieve stress and tension, clear the mind, promote emotional well-being, or provide energy. (to top)
10. What is the difference between 'being' spa aromatherapy and spa fragrances? Spa fragrances use synthetic ingredients for their smell; much like perfumes. 'being' spa aromatherapy uses natural "essential oils" derived from herbs and/or flowers to give the blends their aroma. The ingredients in the 'being' product line have been custom blended based on principles of aromatherapy and the moods that each ingredient is thought to evoke. (to top)
