The Caspian Tiger
Isolated from other tigers by the Himalaya mountains, the Caspian tigers followed the migratory herds of boars, their preferred prey. Second in size only to the Siberian, the Caspian was stocky with very long hair. Although there are occasional claims of sightings close to the Caspian sea, the lack of solid evidence suggests this species no longer exists.

The Bengal Tiger
Most Bengal Tigers live in India. The estimated wild population is approximately 4,000, with about 333 in zoos. Although wild Bengals are considered more secure in India than other tiger subspecies in Asia, there is the potential for rapid demise through recent increases in poaching and poisoning.

The Sumatran Tiger
Found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra, the Sumatran Tiger is distinguished by its dark red color with cream colored areas and long black stripes. There are only about 600 Sumatrans left in existence there, primarily in the island's five national parks. Another 450 Sumatran tigers live in zoos around the world.
